Freesia Tissue Paper Flowers Craft
Introduction
These tissue paper freesias are beautiful by themselves in a vase or along with other tissue paper flowers in a bouquet.
Materials
- tissue paper: lavender and/or yellow
- pearlized stamens (6 or more per stem of freesia)
- scissors
- green pipe cleaners: cut into 1 inch segments, one for each bloom
- floral tape
- green floral cloth wire (1 per stem of freesia)
Steps
Step 1
Cut the tissue paper according to this template. For each large bloom, cut 4 of the large petal template. For each of the small bloom, cut 4 of the small petal template. Each stem of freesia should have about 2-3 large blooms and 1-2 small blooms. Vary the amount of blooms on each stem of freesia.
Step 2
To make a large bloom, bend 2 of the flower stamens in half. Attach the stamens to a pipe cleaner with a long piece of floral tape.
Step 3
Fold each petal into half. Then press down on the fold to make the petal slightly curved.
Step 4
Add a large petal to the pipe cleaner by wrapping the floral tape tightly around. Slightly overlap the second large petal with the first with floral tape. Continue doing this until all four large petals are attached. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to make 2-3 large blooms per stem of freesia.
Step 5
To make a small bloom, attach the small petals successively to a green pipe cleaner with a long piece of floral tape. Position the petals so they overlap slightly. Repeat this step to make 1-2 small blooms per stem of freesia.
Step 6
Bend the top 3-5 inch of the green floral cloth wire down about 90 degrees. Attach the blooms to the green floral wire with floral tape. First attach the large blooms, then the small blooms.
Step 7
Shape the freesia stem so that it curves naturally.
